- Repository: Plantation Letters; Goal: open knowledge/digital history initiative providing access to a searchable collection of digitized primary source letters written on antebellum southern U.S. plantations, and providing qualitative representations of embedded activity systems toward educating students and the public about the difficult lives of enslaved persons as captured in public health themes (e.g., workload, housing, clothing, food, insect contact); Collaborators: NC State University Libraries Open Knowledge Center

- Grant and Study Abroad: New Literacies, Literal and Virtual Learning through Cross-Cultural Connections (2011-14); Role: Co-Principal Investigator; Funder: Triangle Community Foundation Borchardt Fund; Goal: building on a successful National Writing Project site in Raleigh, this program conducted at the University of Surrey in England and other cultural sites in the south of England, prepared North Carolina teachers to merge varied writing modes with technology around culturally-reflective topics; Collaborators: Ruie Pritchard (English Education)
